golden stars.

I wish I could give a gold star to each clever thought, idea, concept-- image, moment-- that made me force my mind to try to understand it-- try to remember it-- and to try to later utilize it. I try to collect them-- to create a pool of greatness. It's not that I try to find them, clever moments seem to catch me by surprise. I find them in writing, editing, acting, directing of television and film. I find them in music-- the sounds, the beat, the emotion, the lyric. I find them in a great joke, in a situation, in a dream, in a memory. Clever moments teach me-- teach me how to understand a craft and the thought process of creators. I'm glad I can spot out these things-- I just hope to retain them-- to add them to my own capability to grow, spread, and foster imagination. I long for the days of gold stars. That must be why we're attracted to the "stars" that breathe an energy we "long" to attain.
